Wood

  • A variety of wood is available for selection. Red Oak, Maple and Walnut are from North America, Beech is from Europe, Sapele and Bubinga are from Africa and Mahogany (Nyatoh) is from Indonesia. (Due to the dynamic nature of Beech, it is recommended for interior use only).
  • As we consume more than 1000 m3 of lumber monthly, we are able to hand select the best out of the FAS grade to make the finest door for the North American market. All lumber are re-kiln dried before use to control the moisture content, and the finished products are de-humidified before leaving the factories to ensure the stability.

Sizes

  • All doors can be custom made. Standard thickness is 1 3/4¡¨.

Construction

  • Solid wood in conjunction with traditional mortise and tenon construction is used to maximize strength.

Stiles

  • The stiles are constructed by laminating two pieces of 1inch lumber if the height of the door exceeds 80 inches. (to prevent warping).

Panels

  • Most raised panels are made from two pieces of 1 inch lumber laminated to allow extra stabilization and to prevent splitting. The ends of the panels are sealed.
  • The panels are constructed in a way to allow for contraction and expansion of the material.
  • Standard panel thickness for exterior door is 1 3/8¡¨.

Limited One Year Warranty

Eggwood Enterprises Inc. (hereafter called ¡§Eggwood¡¨) warrants the door sold under this warranty, for one year from the date of shipment, to be of good material and workmanship and to be free from defects that would render such door unserviceable or unfit for ordinary, recommended use.

Eggwood will, at its discretion, either repair or replace the defective door by virtue of materials or workmanship, with another in the same condition as was originally sold. The warranty on the repaired or replacement door will extend for the remainder of the warranty period of the original unit. Eggwood may defer repairing or replacing for a period of up to twelve (12) months from the date of receiving the claim. This deferral will not be counted against the warranty period. Eggwood may choose, at its discretion, to refund the original purchase price of the door if replacement or repair is not reasonably possible. Except as otherwise expressed in writing, Eggwood shall not pay for the installation, shipping expenses, finishing, cost of labor or other costs in relation to the replacement or repair of the door.

CHARACTERISTICS EXCLUDED FROM THIS WARRANTY

The following are not defects in material or workmanship and are excluded from this warranty:

  1. Doors not finished properly i.e. all six (6) sides and all cut outs.
  2. Doors not sealed between glass and wood.
  3. The performance or appearance of finishes applied.
  4. Doors painted or stained very dark and exposed to sunlight.
  5. Natural variations in the color or texture of the wood.
  6. Consequential, indirect, or incidental damages.
  7. Attempts to repair the door other than by a person appointed by Eggwood.
  8. For doors 3' x 7' or smaller; warp not exceeding 1/4" in the plane of the door itself. For doors larger than 3' x 7'; warp not exceeding 3/8" in the plane of the door itself.
  9. Panel misalignment or shrinkage (Temperature and humidity may cause the wood panels to shrink).
  10. Slight expansion due to varying environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity.
  11. Defects caused by: (1) improper installation; (2) misalignment or bow in the frame or jamb in which the door is hung; (3) improper hanging of the door; (4) damage caused by improper handling or storage; (5) improper installation location (examples include installation in an area where there is direct exposure to rain or water drain, or where this is no overhang.)

MAKING A CLAIM

In the case of a defect reasonably discoverable by inspection of each door upon receipt of shipment from Eggwood, notice must be given within thirty days thereafter and before the door is hung or treated in any manner.

Claims covered by this written warranty must be received in writing by Eggwood within one year of the date of shipment and prior to the beginning of repair to: Eggwood Enterprises Inc., 1743 Boundary Road, Vancouver, B.C., V5M 3Y7.

Note: Claims should detail the date and location of purchase, the nature of the problem, and the name, address and telephone number of the person making the warranty claim. Eggwood reserves the opportunity to have any warranty claim field-inspective by an Eggwood representative within thirty (30) days of receiving the claim.

LIMITATIONS

This limited warranty extends solely to the original purchaser of the door(s) and may not be enforced by any other person to whom the said door(s) are transferred. Eggwood is not liable for any amount in excess of the purchase price of the defective door.
